Logo rules, applied for you: the logo sits centered on a plate in the background color, never wider than 30% of the code, the error correction switches to H and the code gets at least version 5 so the data survives. The scan check then confirms it reads.

Output

Error correction lets a code survive dirt, damage or a logo: L, M, Q and H can lose 7%, 15%, 25% or 30% of the modules. Higher levels make a denser code.

Frequently asked questions

Does the QR code expire?

No. The link or text is stored in the code itself, so it works as long as the link it points to exists. There is no redirect service that could stop working.

How much text fits in a QR code?

Up to about 2,900 characters at the lowest error correction level, or roughly 1,270 at the highest. The more you put in, the denser the code, so keep it short when you can.

What size should I print a QR code?

A rule of thumb is one tenth of the scanning distance: a code scanned from 1 meter should be at least 10 cm wide. Keep the quiet zone around it and prefer dark modules on a light background.

Can I change the colors and add a logo?

Yes. Pick any code, eye and background color or a gradient, round the modules or the eyes, add a caption and drop a logo in the middle. The site enforces the rules that keep a styled code readable and decodes the result before it lets you download it.
